Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I have over 18 years of experience in working with children, adolescents and families through a variety of mental health programs. These programs include youth peer support, mental health advocacy, High-Fidelity Wraparound team planning, post-adoption family therapy and outpatient therapy. I earned a Masters of Science in Professional Counseling from Carlow University in 2015, with a specialization in Trauma Informed Counseling. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
Growing up with both American and Dutch roots, I hope to utilize my experience to support other internationals living abroad. I describe myself as an “eclectic” style coach and counselor meaning that I use activities and interventions from a variety of theories like Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), or Family Systems therapy. It has been my experience that we can reach our goals when we pay attention to our thinking patterns and the ways we react in relation to our thoughts. I do not believe that any one kind of coaching fits all - your coaching will be tailored to fit what works best for you!
